1. What would you call the Turning point in your life (How did the idea of getting into this field come about? What made you choose this? And what would you say sets you apart?
I have always been a health conscious person. Always curious about how human body functions. My desire to explore more on food, nutrition and how it affects our mind brought me into this field. I was working in an MNC doing same monotonous work every day. When the thought of leaving my job and starting my own business was bubbling up, I came across a new course on entrepreneurship which was a turning point in my life and that’s how I came up with my brand Zing Wellness. I believe in an holistic approach towards health. Diet comes with an expiry date so making lifestyle changes that are sustainable is imperative. I believe in a longterm approach where you don’t have to restrict yourself from anything. The more we try to restrict, the more we get pulled towards it. Balance is the key. I would be hand holding you in your lifestyle transformation journey and we’ll be working on building long lasting habits.We’ll work on mental & physical aspects of health to improve your quality of life.
2. What is that one incident/decision of your life, which changed you?
Well, there are many incidents that helped me evolve but enrolling for an entrepreneurship course enabled me to tap into different dimensions that I wasn’t even aware of. It made me more confident and allowed me to face my fears.
3. What keep you excited about this startup?
The best part is, I can be my own boss and no one can influence my creativity. I don’t have a fixed routine. I do different things every day. While counselling my clients I get a chance to meet so many different kinds of people. Ever person is different, so it helps me to keep my creativity alive, as every individual needs different type of approach. I keep developing new things which keeps me excited and inspired.
4. Who are your competitors and how you see yourself competition?
I feel YOU should be your only competition as everyone is on different level based on their capacity and for how long they are on this path. I try to improve every day. Better than what I was yesterday.
5. Where is your startup located? What are your plans for expansion?
My business is online as nowadays every thing works online. We can be located anywhere and can operate from any place. I have clients all over the world including- Mumbai, Thane, Delhi, Gujarat, USA, UK, Germany, Malaysia, etc. I consult my clients through audio/video calls.
6. When and why did you decide to take up Nutrition as your career?
After my 12th, I was searching for some different options and I came across nutrition and food related subjects as biology was my favourite subject. Since, I was a health conscious and curious about this field, I immediately jumped into it to explore more.
7. Where do you see your brain-child in next 2-3 years from now?
I have already published my first book Win The Weight Loss Game on amazon and planning to start my online course as well. So, I would like to expand my practice to a different level in coming years.
8. What is the most important learning which you want to share with our emerging women entrepreneurs?
Fail ,fail and fail hundred times but don’t give up. Stay consistent even if you are failing. If this is your passion then stay on your track and you will cross that bridge. Don’t fear failure, it’s part of your game!
9. Any advice to parents whose kids may want to pursue this course?
This field requires a lot of passion towards food, health and helping people transform their life. If they are willing to work on themselves first and then on others and would do so compassionately then go for it. One of the most important qualities you need are- willingness to keep learning more and exploring more, empathy towards others, patience and consistency. It’s the most satisfying field as you get to help so many people and change their life for better.
10. Motivational factor (What keeps you motivated)
Why I chose this as my career is the most important factor thats helps me to stay motivated. Others things like- Trying and developing new things, watching my clients transform their health, their body image, the way their thinking changes about themselves as well as in relation to the food they eat, how their relationship with their body and food changes, etc. all these factors help me to stay consistent and allows me to keep moving forward. I do yoga, meditation which also helps me to stay inspired and motivated. Readings books on health, nutrition, power of our mind, etc.
11. Top 2 regular practices that have helped you
My morning routine: Morning meditation and listening to something inspiring for half an hour in the morning and before sleeping has changed my life. And secondly, my google calendar where I note down everything I need to do in a day- my appointments, calls, emails, etc.
12. Anything that you would like to say to our readers
If you don’t have time to eat healthy today, you’ll have to find time to treat your illness tomorrow. You are your greatest investment, so invest in YOU.
Best Food There is no good or bad food. Eat local foods and avoid foods that comes in a packet. One single food is not going to help you achieve your goals, but combination of all the healthy foods will do.
