Tiny but mighty! Celery Seeds are from a plant similar to the more common variety of celery eaten as a vegetable. Also known as ?smallage?, the seeds may be smal lbut they have a strong flavour and pungent grassy aroma that needs to be used sparingly so as not to overpower a dish. It has a warm, celery-like flavour with a hint of bitterness. The khaki-coloured seeds are usually used whole, but can also be ground into spice blends or mixed with salt to form celery salt, an essential ingredient in a Bloody Mary.
